Robin Lacy and his band, DeZydeco whip up their own spicy brand of Cajun Zydeco (pronounced Zy-de-ko) music. Lacy defines Zydeco as "up tempo blues". An infectiously danceable off-shoot of Cajun music that hails from the swamps of Louisiana. This style of music has recently enjoyed a resurgence in national popularity. Buckwheat Zydeco was one of the first to receive national attention when he opened for Eric Clapton on his last tour. Zydeco was also featured in the movie "The Big Easy". This unique six-piece band is comprised of a drummer, lead guitarist, bass guitarist, accordion player, rub-board player and Robin on lead vocals and percussion. The rub-board player is Lacy's wife, Joani, who also sings backup vocals. Her handmade Cajun instrument looks like a super hero outfit, fashionably crimped steel with shoulder pads to hold it on. Joani plays the rub-board with bottle openers. If you're looking for an unusual band with a very unique sound then Robin Lacy & DeZydeco is the band for your next event.
