Throat Culture is a "mouth band" - a vocal quintet of 4 guys and one woman who perform everything from Handel to Hendrix; from the Beatles to Sting; Led Zeppelin as Reggae; AC/DC as Doo-Wop; Tennessee Ernie as Tango and their own surprising originals. With noting but their voices and various body parts each band member plays a full array of "air" instruments. The defy categorization.

They take the tradition and culture of popular music and turn it on its ear. Irreverently, creatively, often wackily, sometimes softly. No instruments. None. Just them.

They have pleased a wide variety of audiences since the fall of 1990, from children to seniors in venues including live national public radio (What D'Ya Know?), TV, clubs, private parties, fairs, festivals, fashion shows, weddings, bar mitzvahs, museums, libraries, fund raisers, parking garages and street corners throughout the United States. Their current recording project is titled "Acapella Head."
